Hi there, Tinashe — thanks for the great question!

At Nokia, internships are typically aligned to a specific business group and may be either technical or commercial in nature. That said, what truly defines the experience is the breadth of exposure you gain along the way. Even within a specialist internship, we intentionally design opportunities for students to explore multiple domains, perspectives, and ways of working.

We look for candidates with blended capabilities—whether that’s technical depth, analytical thinking, or strong stakeholder and collaboration skills. Because of the way we work, many interns get the chance to contribute across cross‑functional teams, for example, working with product, design, and engineering within a single internship.

Importantly, Nokia doesn’t believe in putting talent into fixed boxes. We don’t always lock interns into the exact function they started in. Based on your interests, strengths, and the impact you demonstrate during your internship, you may be considered for future internships or graduate roles that align even more closely with where you thrive. In short, an internship at Nokia is not just about one role—it’s about discovering how your unique mix of skills can make a meaningful impact across the organization.

I hope that helps provide some insight into early careers at Nokia, and I am always here if you have any more questions!

Best wishes,

Rana
