Hi, Brighton,
We provide state of the art onboarding opportunities, newcomers have buddies to support them, their line managers offer guidance and or learning & development tools also guarantee a framework to help new Nokia employees acquire any new skills they may need.
We are also proud of the emphasis on personal development, all Nokia employees have the chance to keep their PDP (personal development plan) updated, reflecting areas of interest, building on career aspirations as well as coaching and mentoring.

Hi Brighton â thank you for asking this question. Yes, there is training, but Nokia offers much more. For persons with specific areas of interest, individuals should apply for positions which best meet their qualifications and interests. Whereas, hiring managers strive to unbiasedly select the most qualified candidate(s) based on the needs of the business. Within Nokia, employees are responsible for determining their own professional development planning and are expected to work with their immediate manager/supervisor to bring their plans to fruition. For an individual’s experience building, performance improvement, and to address knowledge gaps, Nokia utilizes time-proven work environment and individual-focused practices toward workplace performance-improvement. For work environments, (1) roles and groups within Nokia have documented instructions, specific processes, and policies in place to guide and support workplace performance and (2) employees’ supervisors provide relevant and frequent communications and feedback to their team members to help assure that performance expectations are aligned, that opportunity exists for questions to be answered, and that individuals needs are being met. In support of individuals’ experience building, Nokia through its Employee Learning Store, provides every employee with access to thousands learning and development resources â consisting of technical training courses, professional development course titles, and to online courses and titles from external companies such as Skillsoft Books and Red Hat. Additionally, with focus on continuous learning, numerous webinars on business-related and personal development topics are provided almost daily by groups within Nokia.
