Data Analytics is a big topic but there are a few fundamental areas of knowledge and skills that you should develop. Statistics is a good place to start. A basic understanding of statistics will create a foundation. From there a basic data analytics class will provide an understanding of descriptive, diagnostic, and inferential analytics. You can also add data visualization to your learning plans. After you can work on data visualization tools and techniques. Finally, you work your way into the predictive analytics world of AI/ML.
