Thank you for your query.
Yes indeed, while business as usual is already very exciting, handling some unique opportunities/projects is special. It tests our problem-solving capabilities, creativity, learning, skills, and teamwork. Recently, we had an opportunity to automate the RFP response process for certain technology. This meant that the offer preparation process could become far more agile and customer quotes could be generated in a very quick time. Once we started, it was very challenging to create the logic that could include all customer scenarios/inputs and generate a satisfactory Bill of quantities and technical documentation with just a few clicks. However, once the project pilot was successful, we were very satisfied as it reduced the turn-around time majorly. Now, we are in the real launch phase. Hope this was interesting for you. I wish you the very best.

Thanks for forwarding me this question.
Recently I led a project within my organization to re-design a set of business processes for my business group. The objective was to harmonize and simplify these processes, and with that, improve the operations of our customer project delivery teams.
It was a challenging task, as we had to collect information about the current process implementation (what we called âinventoryâ) and then work with different Nokia functional groups to re-design what we wanted to have in the new process.
Completing this project required collaboration with different and diverse teams, completing a deep dive analysis into details of business requirements and tools capabilities, and consolidating creative ideas from different people to finally complete the design of the new harmonized process.
We are now looking forward to collecting data after the implementation, as this will allow us to identify opportunities for further improvement of the process.

Hi! Thank you for asking this interesting question. In addition to our main roles in our organizations, there are numerous opportunities (as one of the project’s leads or as a contributor) within Nokia to participate in projects both within one’s own organization and in projects of cross-functional nature too.
I’m part of the organization that provides technical training delivery to Nokia customers and to Nokia employees alike. A project to which I have recently contributed and about which I’m proud (mainly because of its innovative approach to managing training requests and scheduling workflows) is designated âTraining Request Tool/Automatic Event Scheduler (TRT/AES)â. Before the TRT/AES tool was implemented, customer and internal requests for instructor-led training were managed mainly via email communications, instructor and equipment resource selections/reservations, and scheduling for training deliveries were all performed manually. The process was time-consuming, required numerous back and forth emails and phone calls to clarify the request details, and was fraught with opportunities for misunderstandings and errors. The TRT/AES tool digitizes, automates, and integrates the instructor-led training requests, scheduling, class creation, and information archiving processes. In summary, the TRT/AES tool receives and processes training request details from requesters, supports end-to-end workflow management of training requests, and allows on-demand reporting of training requests, scheduling, and detailed information.
With the introduction of the TRT/AES, instructor-led training requesters now enter the training details (i.e., course information, audience, account information, preferred training delivery dates, priority/sequencing, contact information, scheduling details, and comments) into the TRT/AES tool â where the tool guides requesters through the information entry process and alerts them for missing or incorrectly entered the information. The TRT/AES tool accesses course catalog master data and other relevant informational databases (i.e., courses, course subjects, course sequencing, user types, customers, training facility locations, etc.) to assure an accurate and comprehensive training request.
Regional Training Delivery Managers use the TRT/AES tool to validate the training request details provided by requesters and then submit the training request(s) to the TRT/AES workflow manager. The TRT/AES workflow manager automatically assigns the training request(s) to the appropriate Training Delivery Manager(s), performs resource identification (i.e., identifies certified instructors, available training equipment, and classrooms, uploads the training request details into the scheduling tool, and generates professionally formatted training proposals (with the proposed dates, instructor name, equipment reservation details and classroom assignment, etc. all identified) from which Training Delivery Managers can select the best options to provide back to the customer or internal training requester(s).
My contributions to the project for the truly innovative TRT/AES tool include providing some of the requirements for the TRT/AES, specifying users to test the tool prior to production rollout (and serving as a user tester myself), providing user training for the TRT/AES tool, and offering ongoing feedback on the TRT/AES operations, future enhancement suggestions, and TRT/AES improvement recommendations. Yes, contributing to a project that has helped me perform my workplace role more effectively is indeed rewarding. Thank you again for your question.
