"Ask Questions!! I know this seems quite obvious, but I have been in many situations where I was in a group with colleagues, talking about a specific technical topic and using all kinds of abbreviations that I didn't know yet. I was afraid to ask, because I didn't want to seem like the dumb one. But it is not like that. All of us started somewhere and our colleagues at Nokia know that as well. If I just had asked questions right away, it would have helped me immensely. "

Career path

About Emre C.

Current Position
I am supporting network automation sales activities across the European market. This involves working out offers with company products and services as well as analyzing technical customer requirements to offer an optimized technical solution. Furthermore, I make technical presentations for customers during the prospect and negotiation phases of projects.
Main Motivation
There are two parts to this. Jobwise, I enjoy working on the newest technology in an international environment. It is exciting to be part of the future of communication. Company-wise, I really love the open and supportive community we have at Nokia. For example, at Nokia Stuttgart we regularly organize community events where colleagues get together to play games, do sports and just have a good time together.

Greatest Achievement
My greatest achievement is finishing the dual study program together with Nokia. My academic and professional journey was all about striking a balance between developing theoretical skills and gaining hands-on work experience. It was fun switching between the theoretical and practical parts of it but it can be quite challenging as well to balance these two worlds. This experience taught me how to effectively manage several responsibilities and take a targeted approach to studying.

As a Co-op/Intern, what should I expect in the Embedded Software engineering team? What does a day to day look like, and what makes interns stand out in these roles?

I am a third year Robotics and Automation student at Algonquin College with experience in embedded software development and firmware engineering. My interest lies in the Embedded Software Co-op/Intern roles and I would like to better understand the daily responsibilities, onboarding process, company culture, and what helps interns stand out in these roles.

I have applied for a job but I don't have any experience, what are my chances of being accepted?

Since graduation I couldn't land a single job. I am a very fast learner. I did my degree in another country.

What are the little joys that make Nokia worth it?

Not the big roles. Not the large wins. The little things! I’m curious to know! Thanks a ton!
