As I see it, to be successful at program management one needs to be able to lead effectively, approach everything with an end-to-end view and have a learning mindset.
A program can span across different organizations and involve many people. All of them turn to the program manager for vision and guidance and that's something he/she should deliver. Effective leadership is about communicating the vision, inspiring people to collaborate, empowering them - all with a goal to motivate to provide the best possible result.
Approaching everything with an end-to-end view helps to see different perspectives on every topic. Having such a view really helps to stay on track of objectives, as well as where the program is going. Moreover, sharing this perspective with people helps to engage them more to proactively look for ways to be more effective.
A good program manager will review all possible options and choose the best approach (most optimal or with less risk). Having a learning mindset helps to stay humble and keep an open mind for suggestions and proposals from all colleagues - long-term experts and those who are less experienced.

For me, as a Sales Engineer, it would be the following three qualities:
Technology Curiosity: You need to be curious and open to learning about new technologies and market trends.
Communicative: Communication is key to presenting technical products or concepts to customers to ensure that you get the best outcome.
Team Spirit: You can't do everything alone, and that's completely fine. At Nokia, we are one team working together to solve our customers' challenges.

Hi,
I work as a software development engineer and am a member of a maintenance team. I believe the top three qualities for this role are: openness and curiosity for new technologies, a strong willingness to learn, and creative thinking on the technical side. Let's examine them one by one:
Openness and Curiosity for New: In software development, being open and curious means actively exploring emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies. This trait enables engineers to identify innovative solutions, anticipate future challenges, and integrate cutting-edge approaches that can significantly enhance product performance and maintainability.
Willingness to Learn: The software industry evolves rapidly, making continuous learning indispensable. A strong willingness to learn allows engineers to quickly master new programming languages, understand complex system architectures, and adapt to changing project requirements, ensuring their skills remain relevant and effective.
Creative Thinking: Technical creative thinking involves devising elegant and efficient solutions to complex coding problems or architectural challenges. This quality helps engineers design innovative algorithms, optimize existing codebases, and troubleshoot intricate bugs by approaching issues from novel perspectives.
Best regards!

Software Architect
Hello,
As a software architect, many qualities are important, but if I had to pick the top 3...
Technical Expertise & Critical Thinking: This is more than just deep knowledge of software architecture; it's about applying that knowledge effectively. It means analyzing complex problems, weighing different solutions, and making smart design choices to build robust and efficient systems.
Leadership & Communication: A significant part of the job involves coordinating with various teams and clearly explaining complex topics to diverse audiences.
Continuous Learning: Technology is always changing, from 2G to 6G and now AI... You have to be a lifelong learner and stay curious to keep up with new trends.
Best regards!
