Hello Kingsley, I must say we have a very competitive package. Nokia takes care of its employees in different ways and always considers the local market. In my case, what I value the most is the flexibility I have to work from home or the office, according to daily meetings and activities. It is a great opportunity if you have to commute a long distance, but it requires, of course, a great amount of responsibility and being self-driven and goal oriented. I hope that solves your questions in some way. Regards,

Amongst many other benefits we have, advancing equity, inclusion and diversity is a priority for Nokia. This year for example, it’s exciting to share that we introduced 2 huge global employee benefit policies that sets us apart from others relating to children and life insurance! We have introduced a global life insurance policy that allows loved ones of any Nokia employee who passes away to receive financial support of not less than one year’s gross base salary. We have introduced a new child leave policy that provides any Nokia employee who becomes a parent, regardless of gender, with at least 90 calendar days’ paid leave and the right to return to work up to one year following the date of birth or adoption. Also, when the Nokia employee returns back to work, we offer programs that are called ‘Come back with confidence’ hub that offers great information and solutions to help ease and smoothly re-integrate our employees back into work.

Hi John, thanks for your question.

We were very excited to launch our new people strategy at the start of 2022, putting people at the heart of everything we do, and one of the first initiatives to bring that message to life is the introduction of two new global employee benefit policies. A ‘New Child Leave’ policy providing more equal parental leave, and a ‘Global Life Insurance’ policy offering financial support when a loved one passes.

These two policies extend support that already existed in some countries to all our people worldwide, turning the benefits that some employees enjoy into a global minimum standard for all.

The new global child leave policy will provide all new parents with a minimum of 90 calendar days (3 calendar months) paid family leave and a right to return for up to one year from the date of birth or adoption. We are fully committed to inclusion at Nokia and this policy is eligible to any Nokia employee regardless of gender, supporting both births and adoptions. Our “come back with confidence” initiative supports Nokia parents returning to work to make the transition back to work as smooth as possible.

Our global life insurance policy will roll-out to every single employee, helping them provide a level of support and peace-of-mind to their families and loved ones. This policy will ensure that the loved ones of any Nokia employee who dies will receive financial support of not less than one year’s capped gross annual base salary.

Both these policies support the “We belong” pillar in our people strategy, demonstrating our on-going commitment to being a truly human-focused organization.

Hi Kingsley,
We have many country-specific benefits for employees e.g. possibility to work remotely from home and flexible working hours. Flexibility works in both ways: I can take care of some personal matters in the middle of the working day and work in the evening after office hours. This works perfectly.
Nokia takes good care of our physical and mental well-being by offering e.g. various exercise opportunities, supporting our work ergonomics, and offering lectures and events that support comprehensive well-being.
And there are many more benefits. All in all, Nokia takes good care of its employees.

Hi Kingsley,
Nokia’s policy on flexible working is a huge benefit in my view. It means I am able to work from home, therefore avoiding the long commute to the office, and that leaves me with more time to focus on my personal activities like having time to exercise or relaxing with my family. There are country-specific benefits in relation to healthcare and from my personal experience, this has given me a lot of comfort as the medical care available, both for myself and my family, has been exceptional. In addition to care and support for my physical health, Nokia also provides support for my mental well-being through the global Personal Support Service, a benefit available to all Nokia employees and their family members. Through this service, I have access to emotional counseling, life coaching, and one-to-one coaching on mindfulness techniques, as well as a host of educational events to help me focus on my personal well-being needs.

Earlier this year, Nokia introduced two new global employee benefit policies – a ‘Child Leave’ policy providing more equal parental leave, and a ‘Global Life Insurance’ policy offering financial support when a loved one passes. You can read more about these policies in our people strategy press release: https://www.nokia.com/blog/a-new-people-strategy-for-a-dynamic-new-era
