Ravi Y. asked a question to Rana M.
Culture is something that stay same across all levels and my motive asking about a Janitor because mostly (As I have experienced at many places) we tend to forget to include them while taking decisions.
Hi Ravi, it is good to connect with you. That's a thoughtful question.
I can only speak from my own experience, but one of the things I've appreciated at Nokia is that respect isn't tied to job title or level. Whether someone is a senior leader, a contractor, a facilities team member, or an outsourced partner, everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.
Of course, no company is perfect, and experiences can vary, but what I've personally observed is a culture that emphasizes inclusion, respect, and doing the right thing. The people who keep our offices running, maintain our workplaces, or provide support services are an important part of the wider team, and their contributions matter.
I also agree with your point that culture is really tested in how we treat people whose voices may not always be the loudest in the room. It's easy to talk about values; it's much more meaningful to demonstrate them through everyday interactions with everyone we work alongside.
That's one of the reasons I've enjoyed working at Nokia.
Best regards,
Rana
Hi Rana Ji, thanks for replying, I do agree with your revert that inclusion, respect and culture is something that makes all the differences. I myself started my career as a Janitor and hence I feel their pain little more than anyone else and I am continuously working to make a difference in their life through Knowledge, training, Motivation, Financial Education and with a hope that they can also grow in their life from a position of Janitor to a senior leadership role. Looking forward to work someday with people like you and a similar team in a culture of inclusion, respect and dignity.
