Hi Demetri, that is an excellent and quite wide question. I suspect every Nokia employee would probably have a different personal answer and experience on that. My work at Nokia made me think differently many times in many situations, here are a few that I remember strongly:
- generally working in the very diverse Nokia culture and teams has been a constant learning and reflection for me, learning and adapting to the different cultures of colleagues. I still hold dear the sometimes hard learning I had working in Taipei, Taiwan with a team of engineers from many Asian countries, and how I had to be more sensitive to my (French/EU) behavior and working style, and better learn to understand my colleagues' cultures and viewpoints.
- recently, Nokia has put even more focus on psychological safety at work, so in plain English ensuring that Nokia employees can work being their true selves, not only wearing a professional/corporate mask. I have expanded my horizon, empathy, and understanding of my teammates being open about their doubts, convictions, their differences.
