From being a mere graduate to immersing myself in real software challenges in one corner of the world, and then transcending continents to make my mark in the software industry once again as a Software Engineer at Nokia, my journey over the years is not just a testament to my hard work and ambitions, but also a reminder that we are capable of achieving far beyond our initial expectations when we summon the courage to step out of our comfort zones. I firmly believe that each of us can benefit from embracing that courage from time to time, as it is often the catalyst that propels us towards new opportunities and greater heights.

I learned with my own personal experience, that we only know better our own culture, education, bias, and our own self, when we have lived at least few years in a different country and different culture (especially amongst locals). These (many years living in different countries and cultures) have expanded my horizon and my own identity, both professionally and especially personally. There is an emotional cost of "expatriating" oneself, but it is also truly a gift. There are many things that we cannot fully comprehend with only short visit, books or else, they have to be experienced over and over.

It emphasizes the proactive mindset needed when seeking opportunities. Instead of waiting for opportunities to come to you, take action, be creative, and actively pursue your goals. Whether it is related to your career, personal life, or any other aspect, you can create opportunities through your efforts and determination. Open yourself to the possibilities; if you wait until you are ready, you might miss a unique chance. Be willing to have the hustle muscle to figure it out. Some opportunities might only come once, SEIZE them :)

You don't need to have 1000 goals, you just need a couple and to know exactly what those are, to articulate a clear road map out to get there and then doing your best is the right thing to do, knowing that we couldn't do better and that the current outcome is the profit of our hard work. Then, by creating a friendly and great environment you will never feel that you are working but just cooperating and having a good time with your mates.
