Omkar P. asked a question to Namya R.
Hi! I’m someone with little to no experience in the tech industry. What skills, qualities, or experiences would you recommend developing to become a stronger candidate for a Nokia co-op?
Hello! I’d focus on building a strong foundation and showing that you’re willing to learn. Some useful skills to develop would be basic programming (any language but Python is a great place to start), leetcode problem-solving, Git, Linux, and an understanding of basic networking concepts.
For projects, I’d recommend building something small that you can explain well rather than trying to create something overly complicated. For example, you could build a Python automation tool, a simple web application, or a project that works with APIs and databases.
Beyond technical skills, I think curiosity, communication, willingness to ask questions, and the ability to learn from feedback are especially important for a co-op.
