In Nokia we have different channels to learn, as you mentioned one of them is learning from others, we use shadowing techniques, mentoring and coaching. We receive support to plan our career path and we have a learning development model.

I think that there are many ways to learn from more senior employees. On a daily basis, we can learn from them during our daily duties through several channels - meetings, chats, code reviews, and so on.
Regarding mentoring and coaching, there are a lot of coaches and mentors in Nokia so I am sure that one can find the best mentor and coach for oneself!
