Absolutely yes! At Nokia, we have both local and global groups of employees that come together to address and support the specific needs of various minority groups. Globally we have the Nokia StrongHER organization supporting women and the Equal! group supporting LGBT+ employees. Both of these groups have a number of chapters at Nokia sites around the world. At the local site level, you may also find a number of various Employee Resource Groups (ERG's) organized by the employees themselves. These bring together co-workers along with different ethnic and cultural backgrounds including Hispanic, African-American, native-American as well as those with physical or other disabilities.

Hi Adelina – thank you for this critically important question. Nokia champions numerous programs and organizations that support diversity and which advocate the specific needs of its minority employees to help build and maintain inclusive work environments. Additionally, Nokia sponsors internal minority, cultural, and social employee organizations such as Advancing Black Leadership and Excellence (ABLE) – I am a member of ABLE. ABLE recently completed it’s annual Black History Month celebrations where we offered two to four programs each week to emphasize this year’s focus “Representation Matters”. The programs consisted of videos (documentaries, performances, and speakers). Among the speakers were AnitaB.org President and CEO Brenda Darden Wilkerson. Each program included time for topic discussions and Q&A. Although this year’s programs were all virtual due to the pandemic, each program had fantastic participation from throughout Nokia. I can hardly wait for next year’s program which will surely include the popular line dancing classes and “Taste of Soul” which provides samples of African American delicacies. The other employee organizations offer similar programs aligned with their goals and missions. Other internal minority, cultural, and social employee organizations sponsored by Nokia include StrongHer US Women’s Leadership Network, Hispanic Association of Nokia Employees (HISPA), Individuals Dedicated to Enabling Accessibility in Life (IDEAL), Asian/Pacific American Association for Advancement (4A), EQUAL! (supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees and their friends and family), United Native Americans of Nokia (LUNA), and VALOR (supporting U.S. military veterans and those currently serving). Of note, all Nokia employees are eligible and welcomed to join and/or fellowship with any of these awesome employee organizations.
