Hello, Chunav, nothing is impossible - transition from one role to another, from one organisation more focused on technology to one focused on people - and vice versa - are all possible.
Actually, we welcome and promote job rotation, and so called horizontal moves across the organisation, to make the most of people's skills, experience and career aspirations.
I know of several concrete examples where such career changes happened, partly as a result of thorough planning, and partly by jumping on opportunities, being referred after a short term assignment or project.
Some former HR colleagues are now back in business and utilising experiences gained in HR, especially in leadership roles.
