The work environment is super flexible. We're firm believers that results speak for themselves. You have a lot of freedom to decide where, how and at what hours you work - as long as you deliver results. People's well-being is also well taken care of.

Hi Serena,
Besides flexibility that Anni mentioned one thing I personally enjoy a lot is the level of support you get at Nokia. Both from the company and from your teammates & colleagues. Almost everything is a team effort and is a result of collaboration with others. Nobody is expected to know everything and having colleagues whom you can always turn to for assistance or guidance/advice removes a lot of mental pressure. That support is built on mutual respect, which is one of our core values and ensures that no matter what experience you have your opinion and ideas are valued equally.
On the company level Nokia promotes the idea of empowering people and giving them responsibility over certain areas, projects, processes or over ideas. As I see it, that provides the necessary environment to build skills, as well as find and develop areas you're interested in.

Hi,
We have a very flexible environment here in Nokia.
Schedule-wise, if needed you can work out your schedule with your team and manager. As long as it would not affect your work and the team dynamics then there would not be a problem. This allows employees to balance their work and personal life.
When it comes to resources, you will not be limited by what the company provides. You will be allowed to use other tools and applications you are comfortable with or new releases you would like to explore given that it is not in conflict with the company's policies. Having access to external resources allows employees to innovate, to be able to continuously improve their way of work.
Nokia offices also have an open-plan. This encourages collaboration and teamwork among peers.

Hi,
We have a nice and flexible working environment in Nokia.
For physically office layout, we have open office space, everyone is equally sitting in the open office area, that means even big boss he/she doesn't have separated office room, it's very easy for everyone to see each other face to face. And such an office layout is very good for teamwork, easy for communication. In R&D, we use Agile practice, you could see Kanban in many team areas.
There are many resources you could find inside Nokia to support your development, a lot of e-learning and online training are available for us provided by Nokia Education center.
Innovation is encouraged and promoted in Nokia, there are Innovation garages as open space to support employee's innovation, welcome everyone to propose innovative ideas.

Each organization and group will have a slightly different culture and environment. I'm part of a small team but we represent 5 different countries and so this creates a very diverse working environment. I think that my group and Nokia in general has a very supportive culture and I have been able to maintain good work life balance.

Hi Amarjeet. Thank you for this question. My perception is, as one who has worked in professional environments for more than 20 years, that the work culture within Nokia is excellent. Nokia promotes a culture of inclusion, ethics, and integrity where the voice and contributions of every employee are considered important. In Nokia, employees are encouraged to speak up regardless of their job level. Nokia employees communicate freely and effectively within and across teams, groups, organizations, and regions. Nokia embraces the value of diversity for business success and supports the needs of all its employees - including a focus on gender and on its minority populations. Nokia focuses on the most important environmental and individual factors to help assure its employees’ workplace success: (1) well-defined processes/instructions, automation, and tools, (2) relevant and frequent supervisor feedback, and (3) a variety of incentives. Depending on employee’s performance needs and professional goals, (4 & 5) Nokia makes abundant informational and professional development training opportunities available to its employees, and (6) mandates frequent one-on-one meetings between employees and their managers.

Hi!
This is a recurring question, probably one of the most discussed ones. We are proud of our Values, open communication, supportive leadership and an atmosphere where people can learn a lot, also on the job. Teams are crucial, one of the reasons why so many like working for Nokia is the team spirit, the collaboration.
During this COVID pandemic the human interaction, respect, showing that you care, even the informal chats help us carry on with work and focus on tasks, while not losing touch with our closest colleagues, regardless of where they are in the world.
Come and experience it!

Our Nokia Budapest site is in the lively city center with restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. There is also a cinema, where we typically hold our Budapest town hall meetings when Nokia executives visit us. We have various facilities such as a Baby-Parent room, gym, sauna, Team-Building room, and many open spaces where colleagues can network.
We have a strong speak-up culture. Employees can raise questions with the Country Management Team members every month during a Breakfast session; within the 'Country People Agenda', we organize diverse events: the Nokia Pride Team went to the Budapest Pride together, a 3-week long Summer Camp for the Nokia employees and their children to help the parents during the school free period and the Winter Festival, with a lot of health screening options and various winter activities, like a skating activity together with all the employees in Budapest.

Hi, if I would have to answer with only one word, I would say "positive". It doesn't mean everything is always perfect but instead, it means that in general, I feel good to be an employee at Nokia. Everything is in balance, I feel respected, I have many possibilities inside the company and the overall atmosphere is good.
