Additional information

I am restarting my life in Finland, navigating a new culture and career from zero. I feel a strong desire to contribute, grow, and build something meaningful at Nokia; not only professionally, but as a long-term legacy and an example of resilience for my children.

Hi Thuane,

Thank you for connecting with me on Insider. What you’re doing is certainly challenging—but it’s also incredibly impressive. Moving to a completely new country while navigating a new career path takes courage, resilience, and belief in yourself. I can relate in many ways. I started my career as an insolvency accountant in Australia, then moved to the UAE into the finance space, which was a huge leap. Later, I transitioned from accounting into recruitment—another big change. Each move felt uncertain at the time, but I chose to see them as exciting opportunities to learn, grow, and stretch myself professionally.

What truly matters in moments like these is curiosity, resilience, and a genuine willingness to learn. On a practical level, it helps to take time to understand Nokia’s technology, values, and culture, and then align your skills and interests with the opportunities that excite you most.

Try not to think of this as starting from zero. You bring so much value, experience, and perspective from Brazil—and that uniqueness is a real strength. A legacy isn’t built overnight; it’s created through consistency, hard work, focus, and showing up every day with purpose.

I’m rooting for you. Journeys like this are not easy, but they can be incredibly rewarding.

Best wishes,

Rana

Thuane S.

Hello,

Thank you so much for your kind and inspiring message. Reading about your journey and the way you approached each transition with courage and curiosity was truly encouraging for me. Receiving this kind of feedback—especially from someone with such a rich and diverse background—reinforces that I am on the right path, even with the natural challenges of this moment.

What you shared about curiosity, resilience, and a genuine willingness to learn really resonated with me. I will follow your advice closely by taking the time to better understand Nokia’s technology, values, and culture, and by aligning my skills and interests with the opportunities that excite me the most. I completely agree that this is not about starting from zero, but about integrating everything I bring from my experience and personal journey.

In Brazil, Nokia marked an entire generation, especially in the early 2000s. There is a deep affection for the brand that goes far beyond technology—it is part of many people’s emotional memory. For me, being closer to Nokia only strengthens that connection. Today, I clearly recognize Nokia not only as a technology leader, but also as a truly human-centered company, which I deeply admire and value.

I will carry your words with me about building a legacy through consistency, focus, and purposeful daily presence. Thank you sincerely for the encouragement and support—they mean more than you can imagine.

With gratitude and appreciation, Thuane.
