Hello Epiphanie S.,
This is a great question! As a quick disclaimer, these answers are not in any specific order since there are various roles that welcome entry-level telecommunication engineers. I'll give you 3 roles, but I'd still encourage you to visit the Nokia careers website for more options, see https://www.nokia.com/careers/.
- First would be in SW specification - where you get to understand the requirements and how the system should work. You're basically translating customer needs into technical requirements.
- Second is, of course, as a SW developer - this is where you actually build the solutions. You'll be coding and implementing the features based on the specifications.
- Third would be SW tester - here you ensure that what we built actually works as intended. You're the gatekeeper of product/software quality.
I arranged these as a top-down approach from writing requirements to developing to testing. Each role teaches you different aspects of the software development/product lifecycle. I believe these are good to start with at Nokia as an entry-level telecom engineer.
What specific area interests you most?
Best regards,
Casey
