Dear Joshua, considering that English is our official working language at the company, not speaking the headquarters' local language doesn't pose any disadvantage. However, depending on the country of work, we might consider learning a few phrases to impress local colleagues. The same applies to Finnish; if we are open and learn some basic Finnish phrases, while not necessary for our work, it would be highly appreciated socially and could enrich our experience. For our open positions, the requirement is always English proficiency, not Finnish. Of course, knowing a second language is always an advantage in a multinational company, but it is not a requirement.

I would definitely encourage you that if you're interested in our positions and our company, please feel free to apply based on your education and areas of interest. Please don't let knowing only a few phrases discourage you at all; our Finnish colleagues would be delighted by that too!
