Additional information

I’m applying for internships, I’ve done a few internships and freelance earlier back in my home country and also I’ve a resume with ATS>75. Can you guide what exactly HR’s expect from an applicant. I’ve applied for more than 100 intern positions(software dev.) but have not got a single interview.

Dear Dhruv,

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear how challenging your job search has been. You’re certainly not alone; many candidates are experiencing similar difficulties, especially in today’s competitive market. When reviewing a job description, it’s important to ensure that your skills, experience, and academic background closely align with the role’s requirements, which is certainly key.

A well‑structured CV that is easy to read can make a real difference. I’d recommend leading your experience with strong action verbs such as Achieved, Led, or Completed (for example), and where possible, quantifying your impact—whether from university projects, internships, hackathons, or personal work. For software development roles in particular, being more specific about your skill set can help you stand out. Having a clear technical focus or identity often makes it easier for recruiters to quickly see where you fit.

I’d also encourage you to actively strengthen your LinkedIn presence and focus on networking—connecting with recruiters, industry professionals, companies of interest, and alumni from your university can significantly increase your visibility and open up more opportunities.

Wishing you the very best of luck, and I hope things start to gain momentum for you soon.

Best wishes,

Rana
