Most student projects at Nokia are built around real-world problems and customer use cases, so your work directly contributes to something meaningful, not just a simulation or side task. Many projects have immediate impact, while others become part of a larger, iterative product development or testing cycle that eventually makes its way into production.
Students who stand out are those who show ownership, curiosity, and creativity, people who dive deep into understanding the problem, propose new ideas, and help shape how those solutions evolve into real Nokia products.
Many of our co-op and intern roles are deeply hands-on, especially within teams working on network automation, IP routing, optical transport, 5G/Cloud RAN, and multi-vendor integration. Depending on the team you are a part of students get real lab access, configuring routers and switches, deploying cloud-native network functions, or automating services through platforms like NSP.
These projects aren’t simulations; they’re tied to real customer use cases or ongoing R&D efforts. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, test new features, and often see your work integrated into live demonstrations or proof-of-concept solutions.
