I was very excited about the possibilities and opportunities that came along with working for a global, high tech company. My first opportunity with the company was as a marketing co-op student while finishing my university studies. It was only a four-month placement, but it was enough to convince me that this was the right place for me to start my career!

Actually my path to Nokia is via merger and acquisition. I started with Lucent Technologies. I will share this question with others to get more responses. I will say I very much enjoy working at Nokia. Good work life balance and as part of a global team that works virtually, we were able to navigate through the COVID crisis.

I found the position I originally applied for a challenging one where I could learn and use different kind of skills, working at the time also with Nokia Komárom factory where mobile phones were manufactured, and the R&D centre in Budapest. I found the Scandinavian culture, the democratic leadership style and the multicultural - inclusive atmosphere attractive, hoping to find a long term job. I've worked for Nokia for almost 20 years, never a boring day, continuously learning and feeling that I can also influence the company culture, living values I feel strongly about. We are Nokians!

I began my career at Nokia over 35 years ago. At the time, I started with AT&T Bell Laboratories. I was interested in working for a company that was proven, has good ethics, cared about work-life balance and that valued diversity. I began as a Summer employee and feel in love with the experience, and diversity of opportunities. Since I began my career, I've worked in over 10 unique work areas, from being a visiting professor, to promoting spending w/ MWBE companies, to setting up manufacturing locations around the globe, to supply chain management. It's never been a dull moment, and my fellow colleagues have been terrific allies and great team mates. Cheers to you on starting your career!

My career at Nokia as a lawyer was as others have stated, through mergers and acquisitions - From Lucent to Alcatel-Lucent to Nokia. However, with each merger or acquisition, I had a choice of staying or leaving the new company. I chose to stay each time because of the culture, opportunities and the ability to see the world. I have been very fortunate to be able to travel to Finland, France, Italy, China, Singapore, Germany and throughout the US. I also have a philosophy that I live by - you should spend 3 years in a position - the first year learning the position, the second year putting what you have learned in practice and the third year looking for a new opportunity. Working in this industry and in these 3 companies has allowed me to do this even as a lawyer.

Nokia was a childhood dream for me. When I was a child (during the '90s) I wanted to come to Finland and work for Nokia. I have been working here for the past 3,5 years :)

Nokia is a big employee in our town and it was quite obvious choice for me, but the important point is what made me stay at Nokia and keeps me here all these years: our community. Our Nokia family helps you to grow and bond with so many different people around the globe. Also, we have endless career opportunities. We are such a big company that we can provide different roles and positions and learning opportunities. One will never run out of motivation to get new exiting things to do.

Hi, I decided to apply to Nokia because the company's brand image was good and the business sector felt interesting. I applied, got invited to an interview, and was hired in Espoo, Finland. This happened many, many years ago and I still feel the same as back then.

Great question! At the time I was not looking for a job, I was doing my master's full time, and at the university, the opportunity to join Nokia came up, thought the professors who suggested it because it was a great opportunity to combine studies and learning in the market, with one of the best in the market in Process Mining. There was not much to think about, it was a great internship opportunity that then became my full-time job and, I have already been working here for 2 years!
